This proposal explores the potential of engaging the Tongan Diaspora, a robust community of overseas Tongans whose numbers may equal the Kingdom’s population of 105,000. Strongly connected through religious affiliations, alumni associations, clans, villages, extended family networks, and kava circles, the Tongan Diaspora represents a valuable resource for sustaining umbilical connection, fostering growth, and development within Tonga.
